| You put a compatible male and female in the day care and eventually when you talk to the day care man he'll tell you that your pokemon had an egg and ask you if you want it. You can also use a ditto to replace the male or female. Some pokemon can only breed with a ditto. You don't get to see the actual process of breeding. The offspring gets the species of the mom and egg moves from the father. | |

what's a ditto? a broader definition of this: a duplicate and a copy, but in the case of pokemon breeding, does that mean the same?

Oh i see. And Ditto gets its name from the fact that it can copy its opponents looks and moves using transform.
